Steve Jacover: Yacht Project Management

Steve Jacover became my client when he realized that Apple had stopped supporting the "iWeb" software, so he couldn't update the content on his website anymore. At that point, he contacted me to build him a replacement website.

I created a new website for him using WordPress, with a similar website design, but many more photo galleries and much larger photos.

From iWeb to WordPress

He needed to convert his website from the "iWeb" software, because Apple ended support for it in 2011. So I created a custom WordPress Theme for him, which looked similar to his old website but added several features he requested and looked more modern.

More Photo Galleries

Since his new website was built on the WordPress platform, I could quickly add a photo gallery for each of his yacht projects. So his website was able to switch from only having one photo gallery, to having a photo gallery for every yacht project. By showing more photos, he was able to show more features of each yacht.

Larger Photos

On his past website, he was only able to show small photos of his yacht projects. But I added a photo gallery that allowed visitors to click (or tap) on a photo and increase the size of the photo to fill their screen.

Easier to Use

I made his new website easier to use by making the menus easier to find and operate.

More Organized

When he was working on a new yacht project, I organized his projects into two sections: "Projects In-Progress" and "Projects Completed." So it became easier for his website visitors to quickly locate the yacht project they were interested in.
